Black Bear Ambassadors will be at the Cherrydale Farmers Market April 19, April 26, May 3, and May 10. Come out to learn more about living and exploring in areas where black bears live! Black Bear Ambassadors are Arlington Regional Master Naturalists (ARMN) volunteers who have trained with the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources to provide the community with information about living with black bears.

Swingology: In 2016 Judy posted an ad in the musicians section of the Washington, DC Craigslist looking for “swingers.”  While it attracted some colorful responses, there was enough positive response to form what is now known as the band, Swingology.

Originally, Swingology consisted of 3 guitars, a piano and violin, but we were missing an upright bass.  One of the original guitarists recruited a former high school classmate who played bass, Scott Flory, and the full group was formed.  There have been some member changes over the years due to health issues and relocation, plus COVID didn’t help.  Scott is no longer in the DC area, but he is still a valuable Swingology member in that he’s the guy who knows how to update our website. But even with all that transition, Swingology has endured, and we have been the same solid ensemble for the past year:  Zack Friedman – Guitar, Judy Gomez – Violin, David Lampp – Guitar, Leigh Oben – Upright Bass.
