FTT has been established as a 501 (c)(4) corporation (under Internal Revenue Code). As such, the FTT organization is not organized for profit and must be operated exclusively to promote social welfare. Accordingly, 501 (c)(4) has unique filing and reporting requirements and subsequently any changes to this structure would have to be communicated to and approved by state and federal regulatory bodies.
The FTT organization consists of a Board of Directors and Executive Committee, the Executive Director, and constituent market committees. Each has a unique role in the management and oversight of market operations. The individual markets will operate semi-autonomously with Field to Table providing oversight and other corporate functions. Though the constituent markets are expected to observe the core FTT values and principles (e.g., producer only, local producers, farmer/food product oriented), individual market committees are able to establish their own specific market policies.
